Machina Research, which claims to be the world’s leading provider of strategic market intelligence on IoT, has joined the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), the industry association formed to accelerate the growth of the Industrial Internet
The IIC (www.iiconsortium.org) was founded by AT&T, Cisco, General Electric, IBM and Intel in March 2014 and how has a membership of over 130 comprised of major technology companies, industrial end-users, government bodies and academics. It says that it “catalyses and coordinates the priorities and enabling technologies of the industrial Internet.”
It focuses on encouraging the growth of the Industrial Internet by sharing best practice, encouraging interoperability, helping build standards and tackling challenges such as security.
Machina Research’s published research includes a wide range of streams tracking the latest developments in the field: ‘Enterprise IoT’ focuses on strategies for end users of IoT services, ‘IoT Strategies’ is aimed at vendors interested in addressing the IoT market opportunity, and ‘M2M & IoT Regulation’ explores data management and other regulatory issues associated with the space.
