Asia IoT Business Platform Asia, a series of IoT focussed conferences and exhibitions held across Southeast Asia, kicks off this year in Manila from 23-24 May. It will be followed immediately by a similar event in Bangkok from 26-27 May, then Jakarta from 15-16 August and Kuala Lumpur from 18-19 August.
This is the third year for the events, which started in Malaysia and Indonesia in 2014 and expanded to Thailand and The Philippines in 2015. The organisers say the events “focus on local telecommunication companies and enterprise verticals” and “offer Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive event for solution providers targeting enterprise adoption of M2M technologies.”
The Manila event is endorsed by the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) of the Department of Science and Technology in the Philippines and will feature sessions on market trends and outlook, industrial IoT (IIoT), transport and logistics, smart city, big data, cloud, security, healthcare, banking and finance.
The organisers say: “With IoT spending in the Philippines forecasted to grow from $US 55.1m in 2014 to $US766.8m in 2020, the Asia IoT Business Platform will see over 300 representatives of local end users across major verticals attending the conference and exhibitions. With 89 percent participation of local companies in 2015, the attendees of Asia IoT Business Platform are made up of key executives from the IT and operational divisions who are actively exploring technology solutions to drive business efficiencies, improve services and ensure security.”
The conference will be chaired by Microsoft, with presentations by the city of Yokohama, DHL, Honda Motors, PLDT, Nestlé, Telenor Connexion, M-PESA.
