Gartner has acquired UK based Machina Research, a specialist in IoT and M2M market research and analysis.
Announcing the move on its web site Machina Research said: “Gartner has recognised the magnificent efforts that Machina Research has made to set the agenda in IoT market analysis [and] has acquired Machina Research as part of its strategy of investing further in this technology area. Both companies recognise the tremendous synergy and additional value that they can deliver as the market leaders in IoT research.”
Machina Research said its entire team of analysts would transition in its entirety to Gartner. The company claims to be the world’s leading provider of market intelligence and strategic insight on the newly emerging internet of things, machine-to-machine (m2m) and big data opportunities.
It “provides market intelligence and strategic insight to help our clients maximise opportunities from the rapidly emerging Internet of Things, M2M and big data markets.”
It offers an advisory service consisting of a set of research streams covering all aspects of M2M and IoT and custom research for business case analysis, go-to-market strategies, sales support or marketing/white papers.
