ASX listed Simble Solutions (ASX: SIS), a software company focused on energy management and mobility, says its sales in the UK have exceeded guidance following launch of the Simble Energy Platform bundled with LED lighting from an unnamed manufacturer.
It says orders for the platform now total $660,000 across Australia and the UK, making it the fastest growing energy management software company on the ASX.
Simble says its recently announced channel partner, Powercor UK, is delivering more than 20 customer sites per month via a technology bundling arrangement with one of the world’s largest lighting manufacturers. It has named early UK customers as including Ferrero Rocher, Richmond Borough Council and Roehamption University.
The partnership was announced in May with Simble saying: “The platform has a ‘two-way smart control’ functionality that will allow customers to remotely action and automate energy saving opportunities at the circuit and plug level. Its real time dashboard will show customers where their greatest energy draws are, at what time of the day, and how efficient extra sources, such as LED light bulbs, may be.”
Powercor ‘s technical director, Chris Wright, said: “By white labelling Simble’s software, we are able to validate the benefits of new IoT technologies and develop recurring customer relationships.”
First Australian sales
On 2 July Simble announced the first significant Australian sales for the Simble Energy Platform, worth $480,000. It said the sales had the potential to more than double its current installed customer base.
“These sales represent stocking orders by our partners to cover expected sales ahead of delivery and installation to their underlying customer base,” Simble said.
Pushing into the UK metering market
In May Simble announceda push into the UK metering market via UK software company Utiligroup, by integrating its energy management software with Utiligroup’s uSmart platform and offering this to power utilities to help UK residential electricity customers monitor and reduce their electricity usage.
(The UK government has mandated that all electricity and gas providers roll out smart meters across all business and residential customers by 2020. Some 53 million meters will be installed in total.)
Simble’s system uses sub meters to provide more granular monitoring of electricity usage. Simble says that, in combination with Utiligroup’s uSmart DCC product, it will enable utilities to offer their customers the ability to monitor and control energy usage.
Simble CEO, Fadi Geha, said that, as a first step Simble had signed an agreement under which it would fund Utiligroup to develop APIs and integrate Simble’s software with uSmart.
“What they offer is a back office business application as a service to startup and disrupter utilities,” Geha said. “They have more than 45 utilities that are primarily disrupter utilities. They were looking for a customer engagement and energy analytics capability to enable those utilities to scale up quickly.”
