ASX listed IoT company, Simble Solutions (ASX: SIS) has scored a contract to provide its energy analytics solution to RATP Dev London, which operates a fleet of 1100 buses in and around the capital on behalf of Transport for London.
Simble’s SimbleSense platform will be deployed across RATP’s 13 operational garages and maintenance depots by Simble’s UK distributor Powercor as part of an energy efficiency and baseline measurement program.
A range of energy metering devices will provide measurement, reporting and verification of RATP’s energy efficiency initiatives under a five-year software-as-a-service subscription model.
Powercor technical director Chris Wright said the project was part of the company’s smart city play. “The SimbleSense analytics platform is bundled with our energy efficiency and facility management contract solutions, which will deliver superior value to our customers and provides us with a source of differentiation over our competitors allowing us to win highly competitive contracts,” he said.
He added: “We continue to see strong demand for our solutions and witness a sense of urgency in the industry, stimulated by supportive government initiatives and rising awareness for the benefits of our energy efficiency projects.”
Smart lighting also
Simble announced in July 2018 that recently announced channel partner Powercor was delivering its technology to more than 20 customer sites per month via a technology bundling arrangement with one of the world’s largest lighting manufacturers. It named early UK customers as including Ferrero Rocher, Richmond Borough Council and Roehampton University.
The partnership with Powercor had been announced in May 2018 with Simble saying: “[Our] platform has a ‘two-way smart control’ functionality that will allow customers to remotely action and automate energy saving opportunities at the circuit and plug level. Its real time dashboard will show customers where their greatest energy draws are, at what time of the day, and how efficient extra sources, such as LED light bulbs, may be.”
Success in UK smart metering market
Simble announced in May this year that it had extended its UK partnership with UK company BidEnergy enabling it to expand its existing smart metering agreement with UK energy broker UCR Consultants .
It said the addition of BidEnergy’s BidBilly robotic processing automation platform to Simble’s smart energy technology solutions would allow UCR to expand deployment to 60,000 meters ahead of schedule, increasing the value of Simble’s initial $A3.9m, three year deal to $A6.4m.
“BidEnergy’s RPA Platform will seamlessly integrate with Simble’s smart energy technology solution and deliver superior value to end-customers of energy brokers,” Simble said.
“The first energy broker to deploy the end-to-end solution will be Simble’s existing partner UCR Consultants, an energy broker with over 60,000 meters under management.”
Simble added: “Since the initial agreement announced in January, UCR has further expanded its meter reach by more than 4x to over 250,000 providing further potential for Simble in partnership with BidEnergy to grow outside of the existing 60,000 meters contract.”
Simble said it plans to target the fast-growing energy broker market in the UK using BidEnergy’s BidBilly RPA platform to manage core data requirements for thousands of SMEs across the UK.
“Through the front-end of BidEnergy’s RPA platform, Simble is able to seamlessly onboard clients, rapidly parse bill information and power Simble’s solution at the sub meter level,” Simble said. “This combined solution will allow UK businesses to reduce their energy consumption and their expenditure.”
