Cisco has launched, at its EMEA Cisco Live! in Barcelona, an IoT security suite designed to provide visibility and analytics across IT and OT networks.
Cisco says it has removed the complexity of a multi-vendor, multi-data, and multi-asset infrastructure to create simple IoT cyber security solutions that can be managed on any of Cisco’s gateways, switches, or routers, bringing end-to-end security and simplified data management together.
The new suite comprises:
– Cisco Cyber Vision to provide real-time detection of cyber security threats to industrial assets. This is achieved with Cisco’s Talos, security intelligence and research group (Talos), a team of threat researchers supported that creates create threat intelligence for Cisco products to detect, analyses and protects against known and emerging threats.
– Cisco Edge Intelligence, software that securely delivers data from connected assets at the network edge to multicloud application destinations. It is integrated into Cisco’s industrial networking and compute devices to provide control over and governance of IoT data
Cisco Cyber Vision is claimed to be the first software-based security solution for automated discovery of industrial assets delivered via Cisco’s Industrial IoT networking portfolio.
According to Cisco, it analyses traffic from connected assets, creates segmentation policies in Cisco ISE and DNA Center to prevent lateral movement of threats across the operational environments.
Cisco Edge Intelligence simplifies the extraction of data at the network edge, streamlines data delivery to multi-cloud and on-premises destinations and helps businesses better manage data throughout critical aspects of its life cycle from start to finish.
It comprises:
– A set of connectors that allow users to extract the data trapped in machines;
– Developer-friendly tools to perform edge analytics for operations;
– The ability to govern the logical flow of IoT data at a granular level before it leaves the operational environment;
– Pre-integration with application and platform partners to easily share data from edge to multi-cloud destinations;
– Simplified user experience and centralized management for scalability for operational users.
