Spain based water network analytics company Idrica is to enter the Australian and New Zealand markets in partnership with smart water network management services company Aqua Analytics.
Idrica says the partnership will enable it to take its GoAigua suite of water management software to the Asia Pacific water sector and “transform water utilities into smarter, more proactive and more robust entities.”
Idrica says GoAigua uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to help water utilities unlock value from data generated by the digital components of the water utility infrastructure — SCADA, GIS, ERP, smart meters, CMMS and IoT sensors — to improve operations, maintenance, asset management, customer experience and reduce water loss.
COVID-19 detection
The product includes GoAigua SARS-Analytics that, Idrica says “shows the concentration of COVID-19 in wastewater in real time. [and can identify] the sources of the pandemic and alert public authorities in order to anticipate possible outbreaks.”
According to Idrica, GoAquia has “won several global awards such as the Aquatech Innovation Award 2019 in the category of process control technology and process automation, [and] has helped save billions of litres of water every year, reduce energy consumption by over 15 percent and mitigate carbon dioxide emissions by thousands of tonnes.”
Aqua Analytics’ managing director, Hugh Chapman, said GoAquia would be offered in conjunction with his company’s IoT device installation and maintenance services.
“A key benefit of GoAigua is the fact that it has already been deployed in 400 water utilities globally. It is not a prototype, nor is it in development,” he said. “It is a real platform that is allowing water utilities to enter digital projects more seamlessly and to address some of their key network challenges.”
Idrica was spun off from Spain’s largest water utility, Global Omium, more than a decade ago following the utility’s digital transformation.
Aqua Analytics’ has been providing smart water network solutions, water loss management, active leak detection and pipeline condition assessment in Australia and New Zealand for more than. 20 years.
